Wisbech Adventure Playground

The transformation of Wisbech Adventure Playground (The Spinney), Waterlees Road, Wisbech is now complete and will re-open to the public on Tuesday 31 March 2026.

What can I expect to see when I visit the playground now the refurbishment work is complete?

Wisbech Adventure Playground will continue to be staffed by qualified playworkers and provide inclusive, safe, and stimulating outdoor play opportunities for children and young people. Visitors to the playground will now also have access (during session times) to the new youth building which replaces the two barges which were previously on the site.

Alongside the play offer, the new Wisbech Youth Centre which was funded through the Youth Investment Fund, will officially open its doors in the summer. It will provide local young people with opportunities to take part in positive activities, develop new skills, and access support and guidance.

Although Cambridgeshire County Council does not directly fund youth work, we work closely with partners to enable a strong countywide Youth Offer. In Wisbech, this includes collaboration with the Fenland Youth Work Network to help ensure the new centre becomes a safe, welcoming environment where young people can participate in a wide range of youth-led projects and build trusted, supportive relationships with the professionals and organisations who work with them.
