Agri-environment or environmental stewardship schemes
We offer payments for protecting cropmark and other archaeological sites. So you can transform fertile land to grassland and manage existing earthworks.
Countryside stewardship is administered by the Rural Payments Agency, for information and application packs, please visit the Countryside Stewardship page on the GOV.UK website.
The council:
· helps with stewardship schemes via applications to the Rural Payments Agency. (This advice can help you find sites of interest on your farm or land. The conservation of historic features doesn't need to conflict with good agricultural practice).
· provides advice for woodland grant schemes
