A resident parking permit allows you to park in a resident parking bay during your scheme area's operational hours.
Please note that resident parking permits:
- Are valid for one year from date of issue
- Are specific to the scheme area you live in
- Cannot be transferred between vehicles
- Do not reserve or guarantee the availability of a parking space
Who can apply for a South Cambridgeshire resident parking permit
You may apply for a South Cambridgeshire resident parking permit if your main place of residence is in a defined Resident Parking Scheme area.
Cost of permit
The cost of a resident parking permit in a South Cambridgeshire Resident Parking Scheme is £70.
Apply for a South Cambridgeshire resident parking permit
To apply for a digital resident parking permit, please click the link below to register for a MiPermit account. You may register via the MiPermit web portal with an email address or select “Resident Parking Permits” under Residents Permits, to register with an email address or telephone number. (Please be advised that if you register with a telephone number, you will not receive any receipt confirmations or reminders).
The MiPermit web portal allows you to apply, purchase and manage your parking permits.
When you apply you need to:
- Pay for your permit at the time of application
- Provide a scanned image or readable photograph of the following documents:

Resident parking permits are now virtual. Once your permit application has been approved an email notification will be sent to confirm that the vehicle is permitted to park in the applied for zone.
Renew a resident parking permit
When your permit is due to expire, we will send you a renewal notice email with instructions on how to renew.
On receipt of your email, or up to 28 days before your permit expires, you can renew and pay for your permit using the MiPermit telephone helpdesk on 0345 520 7007 or MiPermit online web portal
