Resources for loan to schools

We offer a number of resources for loan to schools to support road safety and sustainable travel education. If you would like to enquire about any of our resources below, please email the team at road.safety@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.

Children learn about the need to judge vehicle speeds and speeding issues in their local area. They also have an opportunity to use hand held traffic radars to check speeds.  This resource is suitable for Years 4, 5 and 6.

This is designed to be run with one class at a time for a term.  Jofli is a toy bear who comes complete with a diary for children to record their walk to and from school, promoting walking as an activity and a means of transport. It also comes with lesson plans

'Eco snakes and Ladders' a traditional game with a difference. 'On the Way to School today' is a road safety and sustainability game. Suitable for Key Stage 1 and 2.

This fun and educational role play kit allows children to practice and discuss road safety and begin to think about their responsibilities as road users in a safe environment.

Containing lesson plans, pedometers and supporting materials for whole class project on walking to school. Suitable for Key Stage 2 and 3.

Balance Bike Activity

Balanceability uses balance bikes, which are bikes with no pedals. These are perfect for those who aren't ready for pedals and develops motor skills, spatial awareness, balance, agility, core strength and co-ordination.

Road safety games for Key Stage One
