These small grants are one of the ways our place based teams help communities develop and thrive. They enable local residents, groups and organisations to respond to local need. They strengthen communities and build sustainable initiatives.
Please note: These grants are not part of an open funding programme. They are available exclusively to groups that are actively engaged with, and supported by, the Communities Service.
Funding is available to help new and developing groups get started and respond quickly to local issues. It also supports groups to build skills, confidence and strong foundations for long-term sustainability.
This includes small seed grants and targeted grants. The grants support positive outcomes for local communities and align with our vision for Cambridgeshire to create ‘A healthy, fair and sustainable Cambridgeshire’. Business plan 2026 to 2027 | Cambridgeshire County Council
Our funding supports projects that:
- are led by local people to meet a community need
- are inclusive and provide shared benefits
- encourage participation and volunteering
- strengthen community cohesion and integration
- support people with specific lived experiences, such as people seeking sanctuary or members of the Armed Forces community
