The Learning Disability Partnership - Arts Therapies Team

The Learning Disability Partnership offers art therapy and music therapy.

These are creative therapies. They offer you time to think about yourself and what is happening in your life.

You can make art or music in the session.

You can talk in the session.

The therapist will work with you to understand your feelings and any problems you are having.

You might come to therapy because:

  • you are struggling with your feelings
  • someone important to you has died
  • you have been through a difficult experience
  • lots of things have changed or are about to change in your life
  • you are having difficulties with your mental health

Therapy might help you:

  • feel better about yourself
  • understand your feelings better
  • cope with changes
  • see things in a different way
  • find ways to share your feelings
  • feel more positive about things that are happening
talking to other people and feeling happier

You do not have to be good at art or music to come to therapy.

Therapy is not a music or art lesson.

You will see the therapist once a week at the same time and place.
