  • Ulverscroft has monthly new titles including bestselling authors Jeffrey Archer, Katie Fforde, Jo Nesbo and Emma Donoghue. The Ulverscroft website has the option for Dyslexia friendly text
  • RBdigital eAudio books have moved to OverDrive

How to borrow eAudiobooks

Your Cambridgeshire Libraries library card gives you free access to our eLibrary. This includes eAudiobooks from BorrowBox, Ulibrary and OverDrive.

Join Cambridgeshire Libraries

  • Login with a library card number and PIN
  • Borrow up to 4 titles for 21 days each
  • You can return your book as soon as you’ve finished it
  • Listen on a PC or device
  • Download your title instantly or any time during the loan period
  • When reserved titles are ready for downloading we'll email you
  • Move the downloaded file to your media manager on your computer
  • When your loan expires we'll email you a reminder to delete the file
  • We're always adding new titles, so visit often and make the most of your library membership

Borrowing eAudiobooks

You can borrow up to 8 items from Overdrive, which includes eAudiobooks, eBooks and eComics.
Items can be borrowed for up to 21 days and can be returned early.
They can be renewed a few days before they are due unless there is a waiting list.
Reservations of eAudiobooks, eBooks and eComics are free.
Some titles are available to be borrowed by more than one person at a time, these are great for reading groups.

Register your library card

On the OverDrive catalogue page,

  1. select ’Sign In’,
  2. enter your library card number and PIN
  3. click on ‘Sign in'

The Cambridgeshire Libraries OverDrive eLibrary will now be available to use.

Searching for eAudiobooks

To search for a specific title or author on OverDrive use the search bar at the top of the page.

To restrict your search to eAudiobooks, choose the 'Advanced Search' option and select 'All Audiobooks' from the formats menu.

Our OverDrive catalogue home page features a number of themed bookshelves. The bookshelves show a mix of formats, look out for the headset symbol which indicates that the book is available in eAudio format.

Our themed bookshelves are useful for browsing, particularly if you don’t have a specific book or author in mind. You can also browse the catalogue by subject or collection.

Compatible devices

OverDrive and its Libby app work with PCs, tablets, mobile phones and some eReaders. You can listen to eAudio books on any device that plays MP3 files, such as an iPod, tablet or smartphone using OverDrive's app, Libby.

Using a Web browser to listen to eAudiobooks using Overdrive Listen

With OverDrive Listen, you can borrow audiobooks and listen to them right in your web browser with a single click. There are no downloads or software required. OverDrive Listen is a streaming audiobook player that works on computers, tablets, and mobile devices with compatible web browsers.

To get started:

  1. open your web browser
  2. borrow an eAudiobook (available in the Over-Drive Listen format) from our OverDrive website: Cambridgeshire County Council - Over-Drive.
  3. click the Listen now in browser button

Using a tablet or smartphone

For reading or listening on your tablet or smart phone, download and install the ‘Libby by OverDrive’ app.
For reading or listening on your Kindle Fire, download and install the ‘OverDrive for Library eBooks’ app.
When using the app for the first time you will need to add your library card. Click on 'Find My Library' and search for Cambridgeshire Libraries. Once it has found the right library service select ‘Add a Library Card’ and enter your library card number in PIN.
