Free bike servicing
Got a bike that needs some attention? Book your bike in now for a free check up with our qualified mechanic. We’ll carry out a professional safety check, and minor repairs where possible. Brake and gear adjustments, tyre pressures and lubrication are all part of our safety check routine. Whether you’re a dedicated commuter or get out on your bike every now and then, these sessions are open to all.
Free bike maintenance workshops
Aimed at adults, these hands-on workshops provide interactive, mechanical education across Cambridgeshire. The sessions take place in local community venues. You'll learn in a relaxed and supportive environment. The sessions help you builds practical skills and long-term cycling independence.
We provide clean and maintenance friendly bicycles to work on, ensuring sessions are streamlined and hassle free. All levels of mechanical experience are welcome. Learn how to thread new brake and gear cables, repair a puncture and replace a chain.
Bike rescue
Do you have a bicycle sitting in your shed or garage that your children have outgrown, you’ve recently upgraded from or just simply don’t use anymore? Instead of letting a great bike gather dust and rust, you can pass it onto a great local cause. We’re asking residents to donate their unwanted bicycles so we can get them back on the road and into the hands of those who need them most. Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy and freedom of cycling, but the cost is a barrier for many.
Just complete our short form to help us understand the condition and suitability of your bicycle. We’ll then email you with details of how to donate.
Cycle training
Have you always wanted to cycle but have never taken lessons? Or maybe you’ve had an accident or near-miss and lost your confidence? Or you want to take the next step and cycle more confidently on the roads? Well, we’re offering free cycle training at locations across Cambridgeshire.
This is open to all and we are also offering sessions that are exclusive to women, adults, families and children.

Street Tag – Turn your walks into wins
Street Tag is a free app that transforms your neighbourhood into a virtual playground. Walk, run, cycle, or wheel to collect virtual tags and climb the leaderboard.

Love to Ride – Track your cycling journey
Use the Love to Ride app to log your rides, join motivational challenges, and win prizes. Perfect for beginners and seasoned cyclists alike — with helpful videos to get you started.
Cargo bike try out
Try using a cargo bike for your school and nursery drop-offs and pick-ups, work, shopping, deliveries, business use and much more.
Cargo bikes produce zero emissions. They have reduced transport costs versus motor vehicles and have a high carrying capacity. They also provide health benefits through physical activity.
We currently have two try before you buy schemes available:

- Electric Bike Sales – Learn more about the Try Before You Buy: eCargo Bike Hire Cambridgeshire scheme. This scheme is available only to residents and businesses in Bar Hill, Fen Drayton, Fenstanton, Histon, Impington, Longstanton, Milton, Northstowe, Oakington, Over, Rampton, St Ives, Swavesey and Willingham.

Cambridgeshire Outdoors
Cambridgeshire County Council operates two outdoor centres for children, young people and adults. They offer transformational experiences that inspire curiosity, build confidence and foster a connection with the natural world.
