Pay for your parking by phone

Using your phone to pay for parking means:

  • You no longer need to carry change. You can pay with a credit/debit card.
  • You don't need to visit a parking ticket machine
  • You don't need to display a parking ticket on your car dashboard. Civil enforcement officers can check if the vehicle has paid to park via their handheld units.

Visitors to Cambridge have two options to pay for parking in pay and display bays in the city through their phone; RingGo and YourParkingSpace.

Cashless Parking

When you park your car in an area, you simply contact RingGo or YourParkingSpace by smartphone app, calling, SMS or on-line, and pay for your parking by phone.

When you book a session using the service you will be asked to provide:

  • The number plate, colour and make of your vehicle
  • Your payment card details

Alternatively you can register at the same time you want to park, either by using the RingGo apps or by calling 01223 853 066.

How much does RingGo and YourParkingSpace cost?

Pricing is displayed on signage at the location and in the app. The summary of the price will be displayed before you confirm when using the application, or the price will be confirmed if using other methods.

Benefits of cashless parking - extending your session

Unlike normal parking sessions, you can remotely top up your parking fee when you use RingGo or YourParkingSpace. If you want to extend your stay, simply contact RingGo or YourParkingSpace again and the service will ask you:

  • how long you want to extend
  • what your card security code is

The RingGo and YourParkingSpace systems automatically recognises that you have a parking session currently operating.

Can I get a VAT receipt?

If you need a VAT receipt for your RingGo or YourParkingSpace parking session, you can view and print it online by logging in at https://www.myringgo.co.uk/ or https://www.yourparkingspace.co.uk/ If you provide us with your e-mail address, you can opt to receive a receipt automatically every time you park. Just login and add your email address into the 'settings' menu. Please note that you will have to register a YourParkingSpace account to access this feature.

Can I get a refund? 

If you are requesting a refund for a parking session in Cambridge, Parking Services will consider each request on an individual basis. Please note, an administration charge of £16.00 may be applicable if the parking session was purchased in error. Please e-mail the Parking Control team at parkingcontrol@cambridgeshire.gov.uk
