Your voice matters

We will listen to your views, work alongside you, and make sure care experienced young people are at the heart of developing and improving the support available in Cambridgeshire.

Care Experience Network​ (VOICE)

Care-experienced young people aged 17-25 meet with others to contribute to improving their support from the local authority. This opportunity allows them to share their experiences and help make positive changes.

Brighter Futures

A group for children in care aged 12 to 17  who represent all children in care. They discuss issues raised by children and tell senior managers and councillors what needs to be done to improve services. They also help organise fun events and activities.

Help make a difference

As a care experienced young person, your ideas, experiences and feedback can help shape and improve the Local Offer for other young people. Join our Local Offer Design Group to share what matters to you, influence decisions, and help create services and support that work for care leavers. Contact Liz or Honor (details above).

Care Leaver Month

Every November, we celebrate Care Leaver Month. This is a chance to recognise care experienced young people, celebrate achievements and bring our care leaver community together.

Throughout the month, we organise a range of events, activities and opportunities for care leavers to connect with each other, have fun and make their voices heard. Whether it is social events, workshops, celebrations or community activities, Care Leaver Month is about recognising your strengths, building relationships and reminding you that you are part of a wider care experienced community.

Your Personal Adviser will let you know about the activities taking place and how you can get involved. We encourage all care leavers to take part, celebrate their achievements and be proud of everything they have accomplished.
