To connect your home to the heat network, we will first need to arrange a household survey. We will notify your landlord that you are interested in joining the heat network.
How much does it cost to connect?
Your landlord will cover the connection cost for your home.
What steps are required to connect your home?
- An engineer survey
- Removal and disposal (optional) of your existing oil boiler and tank
- Installation of underground pipes connecting your home to the heat network
- Installation of a heat interface unit (HIU) and heat meter
What if I need work on my home to connect to the heat network?
Your landlord will arrange for these works to be completed ahead of your connection to the heat network. To join the heat network if you have any electric radiators they would need to be replaced by a central heating system, with ‘wet radiators’.
How do I sign up to the heat network?
After your home has been surveyed, we will confirm with your landlord the location of the HIU and how the connection to the heat network will be made. We will then issue a Heat Supply Agreement to you.
Moving into a property
If the property you are moving into is already connected to the heat network, please contact us directly. To access heating from the property, you will need to sign a Heat Supply Agreement.
