The blood pressure monitor loan scheme will be available across Cambridgeshire libraries from Friday 5 June 2026.
Cambridgeshire Libraries offer blood pressure monitors for loan from all our 33 libraries and three mobile libraries.
Any library member aged 18 or over can borrow a monitor for three weeks – or five weeks from our mobile library. It’s free, and you don’t need a GP referral.
To borrow a monitor, simply visit your local library and speak to a member of staff. Availability is first come first served.
Please bring your library card. If you are not yet a library member, you can join at the library or online.

What you will take home
- A blood pressure monitor with a wide-range cuff (22-42cm) for adults
- An optional larger cuff (31-45cm) available to borrow separately
- An information guide for you to keep - It explains how to measure your blood pressure at home, what to do with your results, and where to find more information.
- A blood pressure diary for you to record your readings - You can share them with your healthcare professional.
- A feedback form to fill and return to the library - We would love to hear about your experience of using the monitor.
Important information
High blood pressure often has no symptoms, so you may not know you have it. As a leading cause of heart attacks and strokes, it’s important to get your blood pressure checked regularly.
A one-off high reading is not usually a cause for concern. However, if your readings remain consistently high, you should contact your GP or another healthcare professional for advice.
This blood pressure monitor loan scheme is delivered by library services in partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council’s Public Health team. Library staff are not medical professionals and cannot provide medical advice or interpret your readings. If you have any concerns, please seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
