Library services and facilities

Each library may have slightly different services and facilities and equipment. Please see check your local library within the Cambridgeshire directory for details of what is available in each library.

BFI Replay is a free streaming service for public libraries. It has thousands of digitised videos and television programmes from the 1960s to 2010s.

We no longer offer assisted application appointments at our libraries.

However you can book a computer slot at a library to complete a Blue Badge application yourself.

You can make use of:

  • free computer use
  • Microsoft applications for word processing, spreadsheet and presentation work

The UK Visas and Immigration Service (UKVI) offers a UK Visa and Citizenship Application service.

We can display posters and leaflets in libraries for you as long as they meet our guidelines.

There is a charge for displaying posters and leaflets.

Services vary between libraries. You can check local library facilities in the Cambridgeshire Online Directory.

Scanning is free, but copyright regulations apply.

There are charges for photocopying, printing and fax.

To comply with new TV Licencing regulations that came into effect from 1 September 2016, all libraries hold a TV Licence, allowing customers to watch live TV, on-demand or catch-up TV on devices supplied by the library or devices owned by customers.

Note: This does not apply to Community Managed Libraries. Customers will need to ask staff of Community Managed Libraries if their premises comply with the new TV Licencing regulations.

Free unlimited WiFi is available in all libraries except mobile libraries.

It’s simple and safe to register for CambWifi in 3 easy steps:

  1. Find CambWifi_Public in your Wifi settings and connect.
  2. Read and accept the Terms.
  3. Click the ‘Log In’ button

You will then be connected automatically to the free WiFi network in all Cambridgeshire Libraries and all other CambWifi locations across the county.

Printing facilities are not available through the libraries WiFi network.

We have a collection of laptops, tablets and MiFi devices which you can borrow free of charge for 7 days at a time. You will need to be a library member.
