Early Years Funding Formula for Cambridgeshire providers 2024-25

Changes to early years funding rates for April 2024-March 2025 were approved by Children and Young People's Committee following consultation with the Cambridgeshire Early Years Provider Reference Group.

Funding rates for 2024-25 will include the new expanded entitlement for working parents. This will apply in two stages:

  • For children aged 2 and over from April 2024
  • For children aged 9 months and up from September 2024

Early Years Pupil Premium: Will be paid at a rate of £0.68 per hour for eligible children from April 2024 (up 2p/hour). This premium will be payable for any funded child, including those children under 3 who meet the criteria.

Disability Access Funding: the lump sum paid to settings for eligible children will increase to £910 from April 2024 (up from £881). This funding will be payable for any funded child, including those children under 3 who meet the criteria.

Early Years Funding Formula for Cambridgeshire providers 2023-24

Changes to early years funding rates for Summer 2023 were approved following consultation with the Cambridgeshire Early Years Provider Reference Group.

An additional increase in funding was announced by the Department for Education in July 2023. This will apply for the Autumn 2023 and Spring 2024 funding periods, with a further funding announcement expected in late 2023 to cover future periods.

Early Years Pupil Premium: Will be paid at a rate of £0.66 per hour for eligible children from September 2023. A further increase of 4p per hour from the Summer 2023-24 rates (6p more than in 2022-23).

Disability Access Funding: the lump sum paid to settings for eligible children will increase to £881.00 from September 2023. A further increase of £53.00 from the Summer 2023-24 rates (£81.00 more than in 2022-23).

Top-up funding from SEN Inclusion fund: Funding rates will continue to be determined based on the individual needs of the child and in accordance with separate published policy and guidelines.
