Giant print books
Giant print books for children. These are picture books, most of which come with braille.
Braille
Braille is a system of raised dots which allows people with a visual impairment to read and write by touch. We have a range of braille books for children.
Spoken word CDs
Spoken word CDs are free to borrow by children, young people and adults with a visual impairment or Dyslexia.
eAudiobooks
We have over 3,000 eAudiobooks you can download and listen to on a tablet, pc, smartphone or MP3 player. Go to our read and listen online webpage.
eAudio book clubs
Each month the ULibrary app offers an adult and a children’s book club title:
Borrowbox has Cambridgeshire Listens titles available for up to 500/1,000 simultaneous uses – ideal for reading groups.
eNewspapers
Using our Pressreader app you can download and read newspapers and magazines from anywhere in the world! And you can have them read aloud.
Reading groups for people with a visual impairment
Peeky Blinders reading group meets monthly at Huntingdon Library. This group runs in partnership with Hunts Society for the Blind. Find out more by asking at the library or contacting Huntingdonshire Society for the Blind.

Bag Books
Bag Books are a collection of multi-sensory storytelling kits, specifically aimed at children and young people with severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities, or those with a visual impairment. These include storyboards with tactile and interactive features. The kits may be borrowed free of charge by special schools and additional needs groups as well as by parents and carers.
Bookstart Booktouch
Booktouch packs are for children who are blind or partially sighted.
There are two packs: Booktouch Baby (0-2 years old) and Booktouch Toddler (3-5 years old). Each pack has two touch-and-feel books and guidance around sharing books with blind and partially sighted children.
