Who is this page for?

The information and application form are for people who live in Cambridgeshire and are applying for a new Blue Badge.

The Blue Badge application process outlined in these webpages is for Cambridgeshire residents only. If you are unsure if the applicant lives in the county, please visit Find your local council - GOV.UK and enter postcode.

What do I need to complete the form?

How long will it take to issue a Blue Badge?

From the date the application is completed (including all documentation received), it can take up to four weeks to issue a Blue Badge. If you contact us before then, we will be unable to provide any further information. We can only fast track applications where the applicant is terminally ill.

How long will it take to receive a Blue Badge?

When your Blue Badge is issued you will receive an email saying that your will be delivered within 10 working days.

Due to current delays with Royal Mail, we kindly ask for your patience and advise allowing up to 3 weeks for delivery. If you contact us during the 3-week period, we will not be able to process any requests for replacements.

If the badge does not arrive within 3 weeks, please notify the Blue Badge team by email Blue.Badges@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or call 0345 045 5204. We will issue a replacement badge free of charge and cancel the previous one.

If you contact us after 8 weeks from the badge issue date, please be aware that we will be required to charge you a £10 replacement fee.

How much will it cost?

The cost is £10. The amount is taken during the online application. It can be paid by using a credit or debit card. If you are not eligible for a Blue Badge, you will be refunded.

What can delay or cancel my application?

Please note that if you do not provide the correct documents, if any required information is missing, or if you do not complete your application (including booking an independent mobility assessment (IMA) if required) within four weeks, your application will be cancelled.

We recommend checking all requirements carefully to avoid delays.

How will I receive application updates?

After you have submitted the online form, you will receive updates to the email address entered on the form. You can expect an email message confirming that we have received the application stating a reference number.

We will use email throughout the process. The sender’s name and email address will be Blue Badge Cambridgeshire Blue.Badges@cambridgeshire.gov.uk. Please do check your junk/spam folder before contacting us.

Organisational Blue Badge applications

Organisational Blue Badges will only be issued to an organisation which cares for and transports disabled people who would meet one or more of the eligibility criteria for an individual Blue Badge; and has a clear need for an organisational badge rather than using the individual Blue Badges of people it is transporting.

It is very important that we have your correct details as an existing Blue Badge holder. If you have moved address, changed your name, email address, or there are changes in your health conditions please email Blue.Badges@cambridgeshire.gov.uk and provide your Blue Badge number.
