If you need help with furniture or essential items, support is available. This includes organisations that offer low cost or donated furniture. Some schemes can also help with items like fridges and washing machines. You can find details of charities and local services below.

Furniture poverty is an issue that affects many people. End Furniture Poverty is a national charity that raises awareness of the issue and signposts people to support for essential household items.

You can search for furniture reuse centres nationally through the Reuse Network.

Local affordable furniture

There are local organisations who can support you with affordable furniture and white goods. If you are supported by a keyworker, then you could ask them to refer you.

Cambridge Re-Use and Emmaus support people on a low income with affordable pre-loved furniture and household items.

The Angels Foundation UK support people who have fled domestic abuse to rebuild their lives and source essential furniture and appliances.

The Besom Project supports people to set up home with donations of time or essential items Besom in Cambridge and The Besom in Histon and Impington.

Community sharing apps
