Background
Burrough Green CofE Primary Academy, ACT Multi Academy Trust and the Local Authority are working in partnership to create an Enhanced Resource Base at the school.
The school and building have capacity and suitable available space to enable a provision to be established.
The provision would offer 10 spaces, supporting students with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as their primary need.
The Local Authority is implementing a county-wide Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Strategy to address the deficit and demand on specialist support for children and young people with SEND and EHCP, with which this proposal aligns.
Proposal
It is proposed to make two distinct changes to the current school offer, these are:
- establishing a SEND provision by way of an Enhanced Resource Base, which will offer 10 places for students with an EHCP and ASD primary need
- changing the designation details of the school to reflect their SEND provision and expertise in supporting ASD.
