Bank holiday closures
All libraries are closed on bank holidays, and will be closed on Monday 29 May.
Cherry Hinton Library closure
Cherry Hinton Library closed temporarily from Saturday 29 April to allow works to begin on site for the Cherry Hinton Community Hub. All library items still on loan on this date were automatically renewed, and can be returned to any of our libraries.
There will be a temporary mobile library service operating at the following times:
- Every Monday 10.30-4.30pm, in the car park at The Robin Hood Pub, 1 Fulbourn Rd, Cherry Hinton, Cambridge CB1 9JL
- 1st Saturday of the Month 9am-1pm, outside Cherry Hinton C of E Primary School
- Saturday 8th of July 9am-1pm, for the start of the Summer Reading Challenge, outside Cherry Hinton C of E Primary School
The nearest static libraries are Rock Road Library and Barnwell Road Library. There is also a Community Managed Library at Fulbourn.
We will also soon be launching enhanced Open Plus library provision at the nearby Rock Road library.

Updates to mobile library schedule
There were small changes to some Mobile Library routes from 1 March 2023.
Instant Card-Free Membership
When you join Cambridgeshire Libraries online you will automatically receive a full library card number which you can use straight away to access our e-services, browse our catalogue and place reservations on books.
You will be registered as an e-member and your membership will last for 3 years. You can use our services ‘card-free’ by installing our Spydus Mobile App from your app store and logging in with your card number and PIN to create a digital barcode which you can use in any Cambridgeshire library.
However if you would prefer a plastic card please just visit a library to update your membership.
