Who is this page for?
The information is for Blue Badge applicants that need to complete an Independent Mobility Assessment (IMA) that live in Cambridgeshire.
This webpage is for Cambridgeshire residents only. If you are unsure if the applicant lives in the county, please visit Find your local council - GOV.UK and enter postcode.
What is an Independent Mobility Assessment (IMA)?
The assessment is carried out by an independent healthcare professional at an assessment centre. They will look at your ability to carry out a range of mobility activities.
A recommendation is made by the assessor as to whether your condition appears to meet the eligibility criteria for a Blue Badge.
How will I know if I need to complete an IMA?
If you are required to attend an Independent Mobility Assessment, you will be contacted during the review of your Blue Badge application.
How long do I have to book the IMA?
A Blue Badge application needs to be completed within four weeks; this includes the booking of an IMA appointment if you have been asked to complete one. The IMA appointment can be attended beyond the four-week period.
If you do not complete your application, including booking an IMA if required, within four weeks, your application will be cancelled.
How do I book an IMA?
If you are asked to book an IMA, you will receive an online booking web link in your email confirmation message. Alternatively, you can arrange an appointment over the phone, please call 0345 045 5204
Confirmation of appointment
Once booked, you will receive a confirmation email containing important information about the assessment. This will include address and location information. Please read this information carefully before attending.
Where will the assessment take place?
Unless otherwise stated, your assessment will be at Amundsen House, Stocks Bridge Way, St Ives, PE27 5JL.
Free on-site parking is available.
Please see the alternative ways to find the location.

If using a Sat Nav it may direct you to go left when you enter the business park, please ignore. Instead, take the first right and Amundsen House is immediate on your left-hand side. You should be facing the Linx building with Aldi supermarket on your right.

The below photograph shows what the outside of the building looks like.

What happens when I arrive?
Your assessor will collect you from the car park at the time of your appointment. There is no reception area, and you will not be able to access the building.
Unable to attend?
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please complete our online reschedule assessment form.
If your appointment is within the next 24 hours, please call us on 0345 045 5204.
