Cambridgeshire Shared Lives
Shared Lives is a particular type of support provided within and around the home of a Shared Lives carer.
In a Shared Lives arrangement an adult who has support needs moves in with, or regularly visits, an approved Shared Lives carer after they have been matched for compatibility. All Shared Lives arrangements are set up, supported and monitored by Cambridgeshire Shared Lives and all carers have been recruited, trained and approved by the Scheme. Supported individuals and their Shared Lives carers enjoy shared activities and life experiences, and their relationships can be lifelong.
Shared Lives care and support may include:
- long term accommodation and support
- short breaks
- day time support in the carers home

Supported living
If you have a learning disability and/or autism you may require extra support to live independently and supported living is an option to support this. We have supported living homes across the county, these include both houses and bungalows and all offer access to 24 hour support.
Supported living is a person-centred approach to housing and support, promoting choice, autonomy and inclusion. The aim is to give people an opportunity to lead meaningful lives based on how they wish to.
You will need to have a social care needs assessment to access supported living.
(Extra Care Housing is similar to supported living, but provides accommodation for older adults.)
Residential home
Our residential home is for adults who require a high level of support. Its aim is to support adults to live full and independent lives.
