Working For You

Text reads: Working for you. Creating a greener, fairer and more caring Cambridgeshire

'Working For You' is our campaign celebrating the work of the teams at Cambridgeshire County Council and the positive difference they make to lives and communities across the county.

The campaign shares stories from across the towns, villages, parishes and neighbourhoods of the county, highlighting the council's role in building a greener, fairer and more caring Cambridgeshire.

Demonstrating how your voices help to shape the services we deliver and the decisions we make. It also shares insights from our latest Quality of Life survey.

Watch

We are featuring videos of residents and the people who access our services, sharing first-hand experiences of how the county council makes a difference to their lives every day.

After the incredible success of EverySpace at March Library, we’re pleased to announce this innovative concept has now opened in our Cambridge Central Library

EverySpace has been designed as a vibrant, inclusive, and adaptable hub where people can connect, create, and discover. Whether you’re into tech, creativity, or simply looking for inspiration, there’s something here for everyone. The new EverySpace responds to what Cambridgeshire residents have told us they value and need in our recent Quality of Life survey. With most people feeling happy, safe and connected to their communities, EverySpace strengthens this further by offering a welcoming place to meet, learn and get involved.

As part of our Libraries Plus scheme, EverySpace showcases how libraries are evolving to meet community needs, with accessible, dementia-friendly, and autism-friendly design at its core.

We’re Working For You to keep you safe on the roads.

During road safety week, Councillor Alex Beckett, Chair, Highways and Transport committee was out in #Cambridgeshire checking out the new Variable Message Signs (VMS).

We’re replacing 33 across the county with the latest technology that’s designed to keep you informed and on the move. With clear text, intuitive symbols, and real-time journey times, these signs make it easier than ever to plan your route, avoid delays, and travel safely. Plus, seven of the new VMS signs contain journey information, helping you to know how long it’s going to take you to get to where you’re going.

Working For You - Huntingdon Community Centre

Our colleagues deliver vital services every day, making a positive difference to residents and communities. At Huntingdon Community Centre, we hold a gardening group for adults with learning disabilities, which enables them to live healthier, happier and safer lives.

Our recent Quality of Life survey told us 48% of residents surveyed are involved in their local community. Hear from the local gardening group participants on how they’re learning to use equipment, taking ownership of their plots of land and take pride in growing plants, vegetables and flowers from seeds.

We are Working For You to keep Cambridgeshire safe and moving as the colder months arrive. Our 38 gritters and two quad bikes are ready to head out whenever needed supported by full stocked salt barns and refilled grit bins across the county. A network of local volunteers also give their time to keep pavements and paths clear.

We look after more than 110,000 drains, crews have been busy clearing and repairing them to help prevent flooding before the cold weather sets in.
