We are developing a draft transport strategy for the district of Huntingdonshire, to tackle existing transport problems and facilitate sustainable future growth, whilst supporting carbon net zero in Cambridgeshire by 2045 and other positive environmental and health outcomes. The draft Huntingdonshire Transport Strategy sets a transport vision for the area, promoting and enhancing safe active travel, to support a thriving economy and improve quality of life across Huntingdonshire.
The Huntingdonshire Strategic Transport Study (opens as a .pdf) was produced to provide an evidence base of the baseline transport conditions in the area for preparation and examination of the Huntingdonshire Local Plan to 2036.
Developing the strategy and emerging action plan
The draft strategy was produced with input from County and District Members via a Member Steering Group, and key stakeholders during a six-week stakeholder engagement exercise in May and June 2022.
The report is available to read below.
The Strategy includes an emerging action plan of schemes to deliver the strategy vision and objectives.
The draft Huntingdonshire Transport Strategy public consultation ran between 26 September and 7 November 2022. Consultation documents can be viewed on the consultation page.

Following analysis of consultation responses from the public, we will review the strategy and action plan. The final document will be considered for adoption at our Highways and Transport Committee in March 2023.
