It is important that you accept the offer of your child's school place. If you do not, we reserve the right to withdraw that place in order to offer it to another child. You have until 30 April 2019 to accept the offer.

If you submitted your application online, you can accept the school place via your Citizen Portal account.

If you did not apply online or are accepting your place after the deadline of 30 April 2019, please contact the school offered directly to accept the place. Their contact details will be included in your offer letter.

Accepting a place at the school offered will not lessen your chance of being offered a place at your preferred school, either through the school's waiting list or through the appeals process.

Further help and information

Help with choosing and applying for a school is available to all parents from the Parents School Preference Adviser.

In most cases it is only necessary to complete the council's application form. However, some schools also require the completion of a Supplementary Information Form (SIF). This is used to help the governors consider your application fully, in accordance with the school's oversubscription criteria.

If you wish your child to be considered under the school's criteria you must complete a SIF (available either on our website via the link above or direct from the school). You must return the SIF to the school directly, before the second round closing date.

Please ensure that you read the specific requirements for the school(s) that you wish to apply for, as these may differ from school to school. Please be aware that if you do not complete and return the required SIF by the closing date, your child will not be considered under the religious criteria.

You must also apply using our paper form for a place at the school to our School Admissions team by 2 May 2019.

If your child has had extra support in their school, but does not have a Statement of Special Educational Needs / Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), you will need to follow the primary school admissions process. This is also the case if your child is undergoing assessment.

If your child has a Statement of Special Educational Needs / Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), your Casework Officer from the Statutory Assessment Team (SAT) will contact you to explain the application process for your child.
